Syed Hasan Zafar Naqvi

Syed Hasan Zafar Naqvi of Aal-e Ghufran Ma'ab is a prominent Pakistani Shiite scholar and leader of the Majlis-e Wahdat-e Muslimeen (MWM).

Personal Information

Maulana Syed Hasan Zafar Naqvi is a descendant of 'Aal-e Ghufraan Ma'ab', a descendant of Ayatolu Syed Dildar Ali Naqvi (1753-1820).

Malana Hassan Zafar Education

Malana Hassan Zafara graduated from Karachi University with a master's degree in Religious Politics from the University of Tehran.
He attended the famous Feyzieh Seminary (madrassa) in Qum, Iran to reach the Huja-tul-Islam level.
Prior to his studies in Iran, he was active in the Imamia Student Organization (ISO) during the gloomy days of tyrant General Ziah and suffered in prison and abscesses in the fight to defend the Azadars.

Malana Hassan Zafar Works

He was active in Tehrik-e Jafria as its senior vice president in Sindh until he left because of objections to its growing inaction.
He founded the Jafria Alliance Pakistan (JAP) and led its Jail Bharo movement in 2001 to protest the killings of prominent Shia Muslims.
He has been a moving spirit in activating Pakistan's Shaheed Foundation and Imam Sajjad Foundation (aseeraan).
Currently, running the Anjuman-e Wazeefa-e Sadaat-o Momineen Scholarship Fund.
He is a member of the Majlis-e Wahdat-e Muslimeen (MWM) group Shura-e Aali, a group formed in August 2009 that protects Shia's rights.

He is an outstanding orator, who has been awarded the Ahlebait symbol for more than 15 years and, through zikr-Husain a.s, has reformed society in his own style.

History of Ka'aba, Amir Mukhtar, Imamat & Mulukiat.
Nishan-e-Rah (Milestone), in which he has analyzed Pakistan's Shiite problems and suggested practical solutions.
